Everyone is throwing the impeachment around like it means something, again. With majority republican Senate, the pedophile being impeached for a third time will just be another notch in the belt for him as he will take it with pride because Senate will most definitely acquit him, again.
This time is different; however, because it won’t even make past House to get to Senate since he has his greatest admirer Mike “I know nothing” Johnson in charge. The pedophile made sure all the cards are in his favor this time around, and it certainly shows.

You are correct however schumer is still worthy of critique and emphasis. It only requires a low effort response like: “Within my capability, I’ll make sure we have cooesponding support in the Senate if the house introduces it.”
Senate leader’s job is to do more than just occasionally vote. If schumer wont do the job he needs to get the eff out of the role of minority leader.
Senate dems can call for an election of a new minority leader any time they want. Its an internal to the party process. Why arent they firing him? Schumers not doing his job, but all the other dems in congress are sitting around with their heads up their rears not forcing the issue.
You’re making the assumption that he’s not doing EXACTLY what his role is meant to be right now. He’s doing it perfectly.
The disagreement here is on what his role says it is on paper and what his actual role is in this illusion of a Democracy people keep screaming about. These people aren’t lazy. They aren’t dumb. They are doing exactly what the people they represent want them to do.
We live in a representative Republic but the people being represented are a small small minority of the population. The people that politicians represent are the people that give them money. How long we gotta pretend?

I think you greatly overestimate what that power actually is. Most Americans know Sanders and AOC better than Schumer. Even if he has the name recognition and respect that some of the other party celebrities have, it would still be shouting into a void.
Being vocal isn’t going to cause Mike Johnson to suddenly put articles of impeachment up for a vote and there are not enough Republicans in the house that would force the issue.
The dems run their party from the inside. As the eldest crypt keeper Schumer has control of a cadre of dem reps who will vote for whatever he tells them to. He has enough of them that he can often single handily win or sabotage (mostly what he does) whatever the democrat party is doing.
Schumer’s political platform is Israel First so he and Trump have been getting along swimmingly this term. That is why he won’t use his leverage to get impeachment votes.
If Schumer had the power he still wouldn’t cause that’s who he is. A coward that doesn’t rise to the occasion, that says some serious words to the press then goes to his club to forget. He is definitely in the democratic party tho, that’s about all I can say to his accomplishments.

Well of course the Democrats are going to support it, just like they supported it the last two times Trump was impeached.
Coming from the opposition, that doesn’t mean much, like when the Republicans impeached Clinton over a blow job.
I don’t think Johnson has to start it, does he? I think any member can initiate it, and if a couple of Republicans vote with the Democrats, that should be enough to make it pass. Unless he shuts down the House, of course.
Any member can initiate it, and in fact already have, but it’s up to Johnson to bring it to a vote which he will never do.
So far, the only House members bringing impeachment articles are Democrats and Democrats do not have the ability to force votes in the House because it’s currently Republican controlled.
That COULD change in November, but the new House won’t get seated until January, 2027. That will be the soonest we could see impeachment voted on.
But none of that matters unless the Senate flips as well, we need a 60 vote majority in the Senate to overcome the filibuster and a 67 vote majority to convict and remove Trump, the Democrats aren’t even CLOSE to that.
Even if impeachment made it through the House, I doubt the Senate would hold him accountable.
I’d also argue that most establishment Dems don’t actually support impeachment. They view it as divisive.
Personally, I’d want to divide myself from naked fascism…
We need to replace these people with actual true progressives. Mainstream democrats are blue fascists. They are not meeting this moment. They must be removed from the party. Here’s how:
Organize, protest and elect. Emphasis on organize and protest.
- Get as involved as you can with activist efforts locally.
- Organize, network, focus on building solidarity. Join or form a union. Join the IWW.
- Vote at primaries and elections for the best candidate, even if you doubt they can win.
- Don’t punch down.
- Don’t punch left.
- Educate yourself, politically.
- Push for voting reform and for anything that breaks the two-party system
