Maybe universities should start their own weapons research departments. There seems to be plenty of money for weapons and no elected official ever questions the “need” for more money.
Honestly a military research division probably wouldnt be a bad idea, doesn’t even need to be weaponry. Could probably get a could mil to try to figure out how to make shelf stable eggs for MREs. Worst case scenario you piss off a bunch of soldiers for bringing back the vomlet.
