Trump has said that the United States shouldn’t have midterm elections this year because midterm voters often vote against the president’s party. Democratic congressional leaders have said they expect Trump to disrupt and dispute the midterms.
“It’s some deep psychological thing, but when you win the presidency, you don’t win the midterms,” Trump told Reuters in a recent interview. He then boasted that his presidency had accomplished so much that “when you think about it, we shouldn’t even have an election.”
Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-NY) told the Associated Press that Democrats are concerned that Trump will try to prevent open and fair midterm elections.

They won’t. Muricans are all talk and it’s become obvious the 2A crowd are mostly MAGA.
Plus i’d wager quite a large chunk is still in denial, writing stern comments, still hoping they’ll fix it in the next election that won’t come.
ICE would have to do a lot more damage for a critical mass to wake up, it’ll take years.

Vance is the Maduro to Trump’s Chavez.
Trump has the MAGA voters in his pocket, noone else does, so he is automatically top dog among the Republicans. If Vance took over the Republican party would become a free-for-all of backstabbing when everybody tries to become the new top dog, because Vance definitely isn’t it.
He’d never win an election, though. Dude’s a charisma vacuum.
