It is kind of embarrassing that I read all of this and the only thing I have to say about it is “I agree completely”. My own self from back in university days or even high school would be shocked. AT&T is the one with the device-specific whitelist. Verizon doesn’t have a specific model white/blacklist but it does have lower compatibility because of the bands they support.
