  • Well, it’s kinda impossible to know for sure, as anyone not targeted by the Hitler regime as enemies was still discouraged from publicly, or even privately, disagreeing with the party.

But there was likely some poll or support data available to scholars at different points that would give an idea of actual support at those points.

I don’t have those details, and am not who you were asking, but I did hear support dwindled as the US entered the war. And, logically, it was probably higher when he was elected then when the war started getting real nasty.

Most people start not liking their leadership when their leaders actions cause them personal distress.

  • Well, it’s technically true. Pedophilia, attraction to children (prepubescent youths), is generally best addressed with acknowledgement, treatment, and management.

Sexual assault, and rape, and predator practices are the crimes identified pedophiles are typically found participating in if their attraction to kids isn’t addressed appropriately beforehand.

Ya’ll don’t really think being attracted to kids is a crime itself do you? Or that there aren’t thousands, or tens of thousands, of people out there that are attracted to kids and just don’t act on it, or haven’t been identified?

Pedophilia, though specific in nature, is a similar subject to mental health in general, in how it’s treated by society. As it becomes more acceptable to admit to having mental health conditions, the instances of those conditions leading to dire circumstances dimishes.

Be more proactive, and less reactive.

Note: though it should be clear enough, I do want to specifically state that this message in no way promotes or supports criminal actions taken towards children or knowingly disregarding such actions if the assailants are rich, or any other such nonsense.

Like being tall, or black, or gay, being a pedophile is a state of being, not an action, and people should not be attacked for their state of being, full stop. Crimes they commit are another matter entirely.

  • ACAB, and should face legal consequences for it until it’s no longer true.

I heard police departments being shuttered and reformed as higher quality community services is far from unheard of.

Seems we need to put clear and functional systems in place to streamline to process of identifying and terminating corrupt agents within our society.

I mean, it’s not like shuttering libraries or schools or firehouses due to corruption is even a thing. It their operators or employees are acting against social norms they are generally just terminated and replaced, no fuss.

Why is a cop allowed to commit crimes against their community but a librarian isn’t?

  • Faraday bags work… But test them.

I got a cheapo $7 Chromebook sized bag that seemed to work for my SOs iphone. We don’t use NFC so I couldn’t test that.

No BT, WiFi, or Cell, and probably no GPS.

    I only did casual testing.

The screen still showed the signal having low bars for WiFi and cellular, but it didn’t actually receive a signal at all when trying to call or use the net, not even with the top of the bag open a sliver and my hand in there.

If the device was off or in airplane mode and in the bag, I’d be comfortable assuming it was safely hidden from tracking.

I haven’t thoroughly tested my various personal devices, but I expect identical results.

I think everyone should probably have a bag like this around, in a go-bag or something, just in case. And it’s safer to have your phone available than not, as long as it’s secure (use a pin or password to lock it, use encryption, put emergency info on it for first responders).
