There are nuts in the US that vote for the worst person in the hopes that it will rush the 2nd coming.

So many people in history fit that bill. Funny thing is that there have been antiChrist since biblical times, as stated in 1st John 2:18, not that I expect hatemongers to teach that.

There have been cases before where the States threatened to delcare the Constitution null and void due to a pending violation. Contrary to what people think, the States have quite a bit of leeway to deal with things. So far, they have been trying to deal with things legally.

I didn’t read the article, fwiw. EVs should be taxed. US infrastucture is paid for by taxes on fuel at the pump, so all EVs do is destroy roads. Repeal the gas tax and tax the weight of the vehicle is a sane option. I am sure that isn’t what the oil-backed GOP wants, though.

Two issues:

1. Most of history isn’t written, and when it has been, it was the ruling class that wrote it.
2. Most of, if not all, the world has been under a ruler of some form for the vast majority of it’s history

Don’t start thinking that Capitalism started with The Wealth of Nations. Greed has always been there, and it has always been rewarded.

Personally, I think the GOP is run entirely by a small cabal that dictates everything. If you go far enough in that org, someone has something on you to make you dance.
