More than 100 democratic socialist elected officials, staffers, and organizers from across the US met in New Orleans for the How We Win conference last weekend. The gathering demonstrated American socialists’ growing influence and confidence.
The Affordable Care Act (ACA) is not socialism because it does not replace private markets with government ownership or control of healthcare; instead, it builds on the existing private insurance system by requiring insurers to follow certain rules (like covering pre-existing conditions) and by helping some people afford private insurance through subsidies, while leaving hospitals, doctors, and insurance companies privately owned and operated.
Being declared a traitor by both the DNC and RNC means you are a socialist. Therefore, Mamdani is a socialist. QED.
A simple rule of thumb for you: If the powerful universally want you in a shallow grave, then you’re doing the right thing.
