Can’t bring myself to read this whole thing, but it seems clear to me that he can’t see the forest through the trees. By and large, the hate has nothing to do woth biases on what McCartney is “supposed” to be, or intellectual musings on synths.

I work in retail, and any time this song comes on over the radio, I start singing “Siiimply, Haaaaving, a Horrible fuckin’ time.”
The one season I worked at HC Penney, it was as a stocker (so I had to be there at 4 in the goddamn morning), but the speakers didn’t even really work through the store so we didn’t have to hear that shit as we roamed the aisles and floors shoving more and more shit onto shelves and racks that literally couldn’t hold any more.
Yeah getting out of retail helped me enjoy the season more
