A lot of porn production, from ‘borderline softcore’ like a lot of Instagram, to OnlyFans, to professional filmed hardcore, is some combination of shady/gross/exploitive.
…I will not complain if that industry gets smashed by AI.
As for the ‘corporate control’ aspect, all this stuff is racing towards locally run anyway (since ‘free’ trumps all in the porn market). DrawThings on iOS is already incredible, and that’s a massively unoptimized app in its infancy.

The new trend in ML is training on synthetic data, alongside more refined sets of curated data.
And, honeslty the open base models we have now are ‘good enough’ with some finetuning, and maybe QAT.
