Florida gubernatorial candidate James Fishback says his plan to visit every Waffle House in Florida to “meet voters where they are” has been derailed.
That’s because he’s been banned, he said.
In a release posted to X on Thursday, March 5, Fishback shared a statement saying that “this morning, Waffle House abruptly revoked our permission, and criminally trespassed us from all of their Florida locations.”
Fishback, a Republican and one of 41 current candidates to replace outgoing Gov. Ron DeSantis, said he had previously received permission from Waffle House’s corporate office to visit every location in Florida to “meet voters where they are.”

Yes, I agree with your definition. I think it aspires to evoke a greasy spoon but is corporate
I have a friend who is a Culinary Institute of America graduate, who has been involved in every aspect of running numerous restaurants over decades. And he loves to go find that small time, ‘mom & pop’ greasy spoon, and and check them out, to see what they are doing. But he def. is not seeking out, and comparing this wiffle house, to that IHOP, etc.
Does he have spiky hair, a big personality, and an even bigger heart?
I haven’t seen him in a while, so not sure. Yes for number 2. No cardiomegaly, that I’m aware of.
